Our Burnside franchisees Clyde and Kim, (married for 20+ years), decided to take the plunge during 2020 to starting their own NumberWorks’nWords Franchise. Knowing that they enjoyed working together and confident that they possessed complimentary skills to run a successful business. Kim, a passionate teacher with many years of experience and Clyde having a background in marketing and the desire to put the hard work in to building up the business.
Clyde says, “We wanted to get into something that was bigger and better and work full time together”. Kim says, “I was nervous, but I wish we’d done it earlier, it’s fantastic we are running our own business, we are loving it, we are loving what we do. I still have my passion of teaching, but at the same time we have the back up of the Franchisor. And we are building and getting bigger and better all the time”.
Ranjeeta, a science and lab analyst, and Amitesh, a software engineer, researched many business opportunities before deciding that NumberWorks’nWords was the right fit for them. The company values and programmes sat well and aligned with what they were looking for. Ranjeeta says, “You don’t just make money, but you are also making a difference in the community.” They have appreciated the training and support provided by headquarters and their own children love coming to the centre each week too.
"It’s definitely different to what I was doing. But you don’t necessarily need to be a teacher, however I think you need a passion for education and have the patience to work with children."

When Ranjeeta and Amitesh Sharma were students, they both had the experience of tutoring the younger generation – and loved it.
